ENGLAND 1966

This must rate as one of the GREAT moments in the school history.

Following their success in the 1966 World Cup finals the British Championships brought Sir Alf Ramsey and the team to Northern Ireland to play at Windsor Park Belfast.

We were warned early that morning that the team was planning to visit and we were assured we would all get a chance to see them.

Sure enough we were all called to the top corridor and lined up. Sir Alf lead some members of the team along the line and he personally shook hands with everyone there.

We had been told not to ask for autographs etc as these would be available later if possible. Unfortunately I recall a signed team sheet sitting in one of the practice rooms for months before it disappeared -- I'd love to have been the one to finally get that piece of history!!
